
PHOENIX (June 28, 2018) — Phoenix Rising FC will host Orange County SC on Friday night at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex at 7:30 p.m. in a battle between two top-5 Western Conference powers.
Phoenix Rising FC (9-3-5) enters Friday's showdown on a five-match unbeaten streak and four-game shutout streak. In its previous game, goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski earned his sixth clean sheet of the season in a 0-0 draw at Rio Grande Valley FC.
The point kept Phoenix Rising in second place in the Western Conference standings with 32 points, continuing the club's record start to the season. The team can set a new consecutive clean sheet record with another shutout this weekend.
PRFC also leads all of USL in goals scored (33), shots attempted (283) and goal differential (plus-18).
Orange County SC (8-4-3) enters Friday's match in fifth place in the Western Conference with 27 points. OCSC has won three of its last five matches, including a 6-1 thrashing of Tulsa Roughnecks FC in its most recent game. Attacker Thomas Enevoldsen leads OCSC with nine goals scored this season.
Friday will be the second meeting between the two clubs this year after they drew 1-1 in the season opener back in March. Overall, the teams have drawn each of the last four matches in the series. Phoenix Rising FC leads the all-time series 6-4-5.
Friday night will be $1 beer night presented by Bud Light and blackout t-shirt night. The first 3,000 fans who enter will receive a free blackout Shop On t-shirt courtesy of Valley Metro.
