
(PHOENIX) May 16, 2017 – Phoenix Rising FC midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips was named to the United Soccer League Team of the Week for Week 8. Teammate Omar Bravo was named to the Team of the Week Bench. Wright-Phillips becomes the second player this season to receive the honor. Midfielder Luke Rooney had been named to the Team of the Week twice (Week 3 and Week 5).
Wright-Phillips scored a dramatic game-winning goal in the match’s final play in Phoenix Rising’s 2-1 win over OKC Energy FC.
Phoenix Rising FC steps away from league action and heads on the road to participate in the U.S. Open Cup this Wednesday, May 17, against PDL side Fresno Fuego. The match kicks off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live. A link to the match will be provided via the club’s social media at a later time.
