PHOENIX (October 8th, 2019) — Phoenix Rising midfielder José Aguinaga and forward Ben Spencer was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 31 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today.
Aguinaga scored one goal and tallied two assists while Spencer scored two goals of his own in Phoenix Rising’s 5-3 win over Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday. The win was the club’s 23rd win of the season, matching the USL Championship single-season record for team wins in a season.
This is the 22nd week overall this season a Phoenix Rising player has been recognized by the league. Aguinaga makes his second appearance on the Team of the Week while Spencer is recognized by the league for the first time in 2019.
Phoenix Rising returns to Casino Arizona Field for a matchup this Saturday, October 12th, against Real Monarchs SLC. The match will air live on Your PHX CW (channels 6 & 61.1) and online at ArizonaSports.com with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The first 2,000 fans who arrive will receive a pink Phoenix Rising breast health awareness t-shirt courtesy of Simon Med Imaging. Simon Med will also provide mammograms at Casino Arizona Field. Fans interested in scheduling an appointment can call 480-967-3767.
