PHOENIX (November 17, 2016) — Phoenix Rising Football Club today announced it has re-signed midfielder Luke Rooney. The contract is pending league and USSF approval and, per league rules, the terms of the contact will not be public.
“Luke had an outstanding second half of the season for us,” said Phoenix Rising FC head coach Frank Yallop. “It shows that we’re trying to build a good team that wins games and will challenge for the championship. And re-signing Luke is a big step towards that.”
Rooney appeared in 24 matches (1,972 minutes) and finished 2016 tied for the second-most goals on the team (eight) and had the second-most assists on the team (five).
