PHOENIX, Ariz. (Monday, June 22) – Targeting Saturday, July 11, as its provisional return-to-play date, Phoenix Rising FC will resume full-contact training this week.
"The USL Championship Task Force, in conjunction with an affirmative vote by the league’s Board of Governors, announced today the current training moratorium will be lifted, effective Wednesday, June 24, paving the way for a return to full-squad training," USL said in a statement today. "Clubs may not start contact training until June 24 and must have approval from local and state health authorities and USL HQ."
"Going to full training is everything," said Phoenix Rising FC head coach Rick Schantz. "We’re playing soccer. We need that unpredictability in their movement. This is vital."
