Phoenix Rising FC has signed midfielder Jonathan Levin pending league and federation approval.
“I feel very lucky and appreciative for the opportunity the club and coaching staff has given me,” said Levin. “I’ll give it my all. I hope to bring something positive to the team – my energy, my positivity, my work ethic. I’m a warrior on the field.”
After spending six years in the youth academy of Pachuca, Levin had trials with Puebla, Juárez and Veracruz in the Mexican first division. In 2017, he joined USL Championship side FC Tulsa, where he appeared in 23 matches in two years. Levin spent the 2019 and 2020 season with Las Vegas Lights FC, appearing in 13 matches.
“Jonathan is a great addition to our team,” said Rising head coach Rick Schantz. “He has tremendous positive energy. He works very hard in training and is also a very good player. He plays as a central midfielder and will provide some depth behind Kevon. This is extremely helpful as we move towards playoffs. I couldn’t be happier to have a player like Jonathan in our locker room.”
The Pacific Division leaders face Orange County SC at Wild Horse Pass this Saturday, Sept. 18 (7:30 p.m.), for Childhood Cancer Awareness Night presented by Carvana. Tickets for the match is available at www.phxrisingfc.com or by calling/texting 623-594-9606 for more information.
