
PHOENIX (April 17, 2019) — Phoenix Rising Football Club finished out its Texas road trip with a 1-0 loss to Austin Bold FC. The club returns to Casino Arizona Field on Saturday to take on the Tacoma Defiance.

Rising FC had its chances throughout the match but Austin goalkeeper Diego Restrepo stood up to the challenge.
In the 33rd minute, forward Jason Johnson took a booming free kick from about 25 yards away but his shot was punched away by Restrepo. Nearly ten minutes later, Johnson took another free kick from a similar spot but Restrepo parried the chance away. Then before the half, midfielder Solomon Asante took a chance from over 30 yards away but Restrepo kept the match scoreless with a diving save.
Following Austin’s 52nd-minute goal from Sonny Guadarrama, Rising continued to apply pressure but was denied again by Restrepo. In the 87th minute, Asante’s free kick was punched over the bar and in the 90th minute, Johnson’s header was also punched away.
The team returns to Casino Arizona Field this Saturday to take on the Tacoma Defiance for Superhero Night presented by the Mayo Clinic. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Rising superhero cape. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.phxrisingfc.com.
