PHOENIX (April 16, 2019) — Phoenix Rising defender A.J. Cochran was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 6 of the 2019 USL Championship season the league announced today. On Saturday evening, Cochran made four interceptions, eight recoveries and won 5 of 7 duels in addition to his one assist in the club’s 2-0 win over El Paso Locomotive FC.
This is the fourth time this season a Rising FC player has been recognized by the league and the first time this season for Cochran.
Phoenix Rising is back on the pitch on Wednesday, April 17, in Austin, Texas, to take on Austin Bold FC. The match, which is the USL Game of the Week, is scheduled to kickoff at 5:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN3 in addition to airing locally on Your PHX CW. The club is hosting two official watch parties at the Pig & Pickle in Scottsdale and Brass Tap in downtown Gilbert.
