
(PHOENIX, AZ) April 25, 2017 – Phoenix Rising FC midfielder Luke Rooney was named to the United Soccer League Team of the Week for Week 5. It's the second consecutive week Rooney has been named to the Starting XI and the fifth time overall in his career.
Rooney scored a goal (his second penalty kick of the season) and collected an assist in Phoenix Rising FC's 4-3 win over Swope Park Rangers.
Alessandro Riggi was also recognized by the league by being named to the Team of the Week bench. The midfielder opened Phoenix Rising's scoring with a beautiful curling inside the far right post.
Phoenix Rising FC has the week off before coming back to the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex on Saturday, May 6, against Reno 1868 FC. The match will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by going to www.www.phxrisingfc.com.
