Even if you didn't spend time watching the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2018, you may already know what Phoenix Rising is getting in forward Junior Flemmings.
"Actually, we see a lot of similarities between Junior Flemmings and Jason Johnson," said Phoenix Rising FC head coach Rick Schantz. "We think Junior is kind of a younger Jason with some tremendous upside and great potential for the future of Phoenix Rising."
The first non-returning player to be announced for 2019 is versatile, according to Schantz, and can play multiple positions. Schantz and his staff also like Flemmings' speed coupled with his athleticism and good feet.
But what fans will really care about is if he can score and lucky for the club, he's pretty good at that as well.
