Studenhofft nets his third goal as Rising returns from its Mental Health Break
Phoenix Rising kicked off the second half of its season on the road against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, where forward Gunnar Studenhofft netted the visitors’ lone goal in a 3-1 defeat on July 4 at Weidner Field. Following the match, Rising Head Coach Pa-Modou Kah and forward Ihsan Sacko discussed the result, preparing for AV Alta FC and more.
HEAD COACH PA-MODOU KAH
On his thoughts on the match…
“Every little mistake cost us the game.”
On what the next week looks like…
“We’re going to review this game and have a talk about what we need to do better.”
On the mentality and goals going forward…
“I want to see understanding. Of self-awareness, capability and truly understand what it takes to play at this level. That will define our mentality.”
Forward Ihsan Sacko
On his thoughts on the match…
“Unfortunately, we didn’t control the game. After the first goal, we had to defend. Then (Colorado Springs) scored and put us in trouble. We didn’t do well with getting out from under the pressure.”
On what next week will look like…
“Hopefully the team is going to win the game. That it’s going to be a better version of us from here on out. We need to build confidence and find the success of victory once again.”
On what he wants to see going forward…
“I want to see us play with our personality and not just stay focused on the past game.”
