PHOENIX (June 15, 2018) — Phoenix Rising FC wraps up its two-game homestand this Saturday when it faces Tulsa Roughnecks FC at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.
Phoenix Rising FC (8-3-4) is riding high into Saturday’s match after defeating Las Vegas Lights FC 4-0 at home on Wednesday. In the win, Jason Johnson scored twice and the club registered its second straight clean sheet, both from goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski.
The three points moved Phoenix Rising back into second place in the Western Conference standings leapfrogging Portland Timbers 2. PRFC is off to its best start to a season in club history with 28 points in 15 matches. PRFC also leads all of USL in goals scored (30), shots attempted (244) and goal differential (+15).
Tulsa Roughnecks FC (0-6-7) is the only winless team left in the Western Conference. Tulsa has lost each of its last two matches, a 1-0 defeat at Los Angeles Galaxy II and a 3-0 home loss to Saint Louis FC. Forward Joaquin Rivas has scored six goals for Tulsa this year. He is the only player on the Roughnecks FC roster to have scored more than once.
Saturday will be the second meeting between the two clubs this year after Rising FC defeated Roughnecks FC 5-1 back on May 12. PRFC trail in the all-time series with Tulsa, 2-4-1, but has won each of the past two meetings.
The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and fans can watch locally on Yurview Arizona, Cox channels 4&1004 in Phoenix and 7&1007 in Tucson. They can also stream the match on ESPN+. The match will also be simulcast live on the radio on El Patron 93.7 FM (Spanish language) and Fox Sports 910 AM (English).
