The pair of victories moved Rising FC into second place in the Western Conference standings at the end of week nine, tying highest they been since week three.
Both forward Didier Drogba and midfielder Alessandro Riggi were named to the USL’s Team of the Week, the first time all season the club has had two players earn the honor all season (exclude honorable mentions). The club's 21 points in ten matches is a record start for Phoenix Rising, shattering the previous record for most points through ten games (15 points, set last season).
Sacramento Republic FC (5-2-3) is also off to a strong start this year. It enters the weekend in fourth place in the West, just three points behind Phoenix Rising. Sacramento has lost two of its last three matches though, including a 3-2 defeat to Reno 1868 FC its last time out.
