Phoenix Rising FC has signed goalkeeper Skyler Odle to a USL Academy Contract, pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.
USL Academy Contracts allow players to train and compete against professional players while retaining their college eligibility.
“Skyler has grown a lot in the last six months,” said Phoenix Rising Goalkeeper Coach Cory Robertson. “He has developed a lot more skill, training at the higher level.”
Odle began training with Robertson when he was just 10 years old. He joined the Phoenix Rising Youth Club in 2017 and played there four seasons before joining Real Salt Lake’s Academy. He began training with the Phoenix Rising first team this past January.
“I feel like I’m getting better every day,” said Odle. “I’m enjoying it. The game is beginning to slow down a bit for me after working with the first team for six or seven months now. My footwork and shot-stopping ability have improved a lot.”
