PHOENIX (February 15, 2019) — Phoenix Rising FC returns to the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex this Saturday to continue its preseason against MLS side Real Salt Lake. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and gates open at 5:30 p.m.
In its previous home preseason match, Rising FC fell to MLS Western Conference finalist Sporting KC, 3-2. In that match, Phoenix Rising trialist Lamar Neagle scored the club’s first goal of 2019 to make it 1-1 in the 70th minute. But Sporting KC responded two minutes later with a free-kick goal from Graham Zusi and added the game-winner less than a minute into the match’s second 75-minute segment. Midfielder Kevon Lambert would later score for Rising FC to make it 3-2.
This will be the first meeting between Phoenix Rising and Real Salt Lake. While the clubs have never met, Real Salt Lake has deep ties to the state of Arizona. From its inception until the 2017 season, the MLS club had its youth academy based in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Saturday will mark the first official broadcast on Your Phoenix CW, the official television partner of Phoenix Rising. Fans can watch the broadcast on channel 6 via cable or 61.1 via satellite and over-the-air. And for this Saturday only, Your PHX CW will also stream the match for free on YourPHX.com/PhoenixRising.
