Valley military veterans were treated to a show the last two times Phoenix Rising took the field at Wild Horse Pass.
The defending Western Conference Champions teamed up with the nonprofit organization, Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), to provide 352 tickets to local veterans for Rising’s thrilling 2-2 draw with San Diego Loyal SC on June 5 and 327 tickets for Phoenix’s dominant 3-0 win over Tacoma Defiance on June 12.
One of the highlights of the Vet Tix program is the opportunity to see the gratitude, feedback, and pictures from veterans after attending an event. For Rising’s match, there were mentions of late game heroics, a passionate atmosphere, and the new and improved stadium and concessions.
“Thank you for this awesome opportunity for my son Johnny and I to attend this soccer match,” said Army veteran Chris Baker, who attended the June 12 Rising match. “My son is a huge fan and was so excited to be able to attend and I was so excited to see his face light up with excitement. Thank you so much.”
Marine veteran Alex posted, “Thank you Phoenix Rising for the opportunity to watch your game against San Diego. It was my family’s first time attending a game. We had a great time and look forward to being new fans for the Phoenix Rising.”

Sports has a special ability to bring people of all backgrounds together and provide them with unforgettable memories with their families, friends, and community.
Phoenix Rising is thrilled to partner with Vet Tix in supporting and honoring military veterans with these types of experiences, and while we cannot guarantee a stoppage-time thriller every game, the club can guarantee a fantastic fan atmosphere every night.
Since 2008, Vet Tix has distributed nearly 10 million tickets to veterans in all 50 states. The organization’s mission is to “improve mental welfare and enrich the lives of military service members and veterans” by providing tickets to not only sporting events, but concerts, performing arts events, and other family activities. Organizations and individuals can donate tickets or money with 100% of the proceeds going towards purchasing event tickets for veterans and their families. All donations are tax-deductible.
