Phoenix Rising Signs Sierra Leone International Defender Mustapha Dumbuya

The ten-year veteran began his professional career in 2009 with English club Doncaster Rovers. He also spent time with English sides Crystal Palace, Portsmouth, Crawley Town, and Notts County. Over the last three seasons, Dumbuya has played with Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle.

Defender A.J. Cochran Joins Rising FC For 2019

Cochran spent his 2018 with USL Championship side Atlanta United 2. He played 2,697 minutes in 30 appearances and led the club in blocks, tackles won, duels won, and aerial duels won. He also notched 17 key passes and two assists in attack. Cochran served as the captain for the club in their inaugural season.

RISING FC SIGNS ATTACKING THREAT JOEY CALISTRI

Calistri most recently spent time with USL Championship side Saint Louis FC. He logged 2,156 minutes over 32 appearances in 2018 and finished tied for third on the club with five goals. He also added two assists.

RISING FC ADDS SPANISH ATTACKER JOSÉ AGUINAGA

Aguinaga was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by the New York Red Bulls. He wound up signing with United Soccer League Championship side NY Red Bulls II for the 2018 season playing 1,677 minutes over 24 appearances in his first professional season. He scored six goals and was second on the club with six assists. His 37 key passes ranked fourth on the club.

RISING FC VETERAN GOALKEEPER CARL WOSZCZYNSKI RETURNS FOR 2019

Woszczynski will be entering his fifth season with the club, first signing with the team when it was Arizona United SC in 2015. This past season was a historic one for Woszczynski. He set single-season club records for clean sheets (13) and goalkeeper minutes (2,633). He also became the club’s all-time career leader in minutes played (currently sitting at 7,560) and extended his all-time career lead in games played (85) and career clean sheets (23). He also set a club record for most consecutive clean sheets in a single season (5) and most consecutive minutes without allowing a goal (491).

KEVON LAMBERT RETURNS TO RISING FC MIDFIELD FOR 2019

Lambert first signed with the club on August 10, 2017. In 2018, Lambert played 2,776 minutes in 32 appearances. In addition to his three goals and four assists, Lambert led the club in long pass completion percentage (60.7 percent) amongst players with 100 or more long passes. Defensively, Lambert led the club in tackles won (59) and duels won (118). He was also third on the club in aerial duels won (82).

PHOENIX RISING ADDS MLS VETERAN FORWARD ADAM JAHN

Jahn most recently played with the Columbus Crew, where he appeared in 41 matches over three seasons and tallied six goals with one assist. In 2017, Jahn scored the game-winning penalty kick in the first-round of the MLS playoffs to eliminate Atlanta United. It’s the last time Atlanta United, the current MLS Champion, fell in the playoffs.

Offensive Standout Jason Johnson Re-Signs With Phoenix Rising

Johnson first signed with the club on November 15, 2017, prior to the team’s rebranding. In 2018, Johnson played 2,331 minutes in 33 appearances. His nine goals were third best on the team and he tallied two assists as well. He was named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 8 and was the USL Player of the Week for Week 14. (More)

MIDFIELDER JUNIOR FLEMMINGS STRENGTHENS ATTACK FOR PHOENIX RISING

Last season, Flemmings played 1,592 minutes in 26 appearances for the Tampa Bay Rowdies. His six goals scored were tied for second on the club and he led the team with five assists. Over the course of the season, Flemmings was named the USL Player of the Week for Week 19 and was named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 11. (More)

Rising FC Re-Signs Alessandro Riggi For Third Season

Riggi first signed with the club on February 10, 2017. In 2018, Riggi was limited to 342 minutes in 14 appearances due to a lower-body injury that cost him the latter half of the 2018 campaign. Despite his limited time on the field, Riggi tallied five assists, good for second on the team, and two goals. In Week 9, Riggi was named to the USL Team of the Week. (More)
