PHOENIX (November 3, 2017) — Phoenix Rising FC today announced that former midfielder Blair Gavin would be joining the club's staff as an assistant coach effective immediately.
"I am extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to be apart of the Phoenix Rising coaching staff," Gavin said. "It has been amazing to see this club grow, and I look forward to using my energy and resources to help this club continue to thrive. I want to thank all my past coaches and teammates for an incredible journey. I will always cherish my playing days, but I am thrilled for this next chapter in my life.”
Added Phoenix Rising FC Head Coach Patrice Carteron: "Blair's recent experience as a player is going to make him an excellent assistant coach. This shows that Phoenix Rising is more than just a football team; it’s a family and he’s one of the players who has grown up with us and I’m really proud of that."
Gavin played his final two seasons with the Phoneix Rising FC organization. In that time, he appeared in 45 matches and played 3,431 minutes.
As a youth soccer player growing up, Gavin played with nationally-ranked Sereno Soccer Club, winning four consecutive Arizona State Cups.
